No matter how much you want to spend this New Year's Eve, Playa del Carmen will be overflowing with endless fiestas to choose from this December 31. At the turn of every year, it has become a city tradition for 5th Avenue and the surrounding blocks to fill up with locals and travelers alike in search of everything from a thrilling street party to an elegant night out. It doesn't matter if you're wearing flip flops or stilettos, board shorts or a cocktail dress... in Playa del Carmen, anything goes!

Several of the top Playa del Carmen nightclubs will have parties hosted by extensive lists of popular DJs to ring in 2013. This year, Coco Maya has a long lineup of DJs to host its New Year's Eve party, or you can go next door to Blue Parrot to listen to Hernan Cattaneo spin some tracks along with several other DJs. Known for its fun concerts on the beach, Mamitas Beach Club will feature world famous DJ David Guetta to celebrate the beginning of 2013, with opening DJs Dany Serna and Tom&Collins.

Many Playa del Carmen restaurants will host New Year's Eve dinners this year, some selling tickets that include dinner, drinks, live music, dancing and shows. Fusion will have live Latin music and fire shows on the beach, Alux is serving a 5-course dinner, Lucky Luciano's has several dinner and drinks packages to choose from and Romagna Mia is offering a special NYE dinner.

Don't have a single peso at the beginning of 2013? That's ok! You can still be part of the excitement of Playa del Carmen. Many tourists and Playa locals opt to hang out with their amigos on 5th Avenue, walking along the streets to see the sights and see who else is in town celebrating. A few hours after midnight, the street party begins to move toward the beach as people sit on the sand to see 2013's first sunrise over the Caribbean Sea.
