Holbox, the little known island separated from the mainland of Mexico by a shallow lagoon is hosting the first Gastronomic Festival from Aug. 30 to Sept. 3, 2012. The island which is just 26 miles long houses some of the finest restaurants along the coast serving varieties of culinary options from native to global dishes. Located just northwest of Cancun in Riviera Maya region, this small Mexican Caribbean Island has retained its tranquility.
